Filler is composed of pure crosslinked hyaluronic acid gel that replicates the natural hyaluronic acid in the skin, providing volume and plumpness. As individuals age beyond 25 years, the skin naturally loses hyaluronic acid and collagen, leading to decreased elasticity and increased fine lines and wrinkles. This, combined with the deflation of facial fat pads, can result in a hollow or gaunt appearance.
Filler is used to restore lost volume in various facial areas, including the nasolabial folds, perioral lines, cheeks, and temples. Upon injection, filler binds to water, holds it in the skin and stimulates collagen production. Thereby rejuvenating the skin for a more youthful look.
BENEFICIARIES
Filler is beneficial for individuals experiencing facial hollowing, fine lines, wrinkles around the mouth, facial asymmetry, and scarring.
PROCEDURE
A filler treatment typically lasts around 1 hour, involving numbing the patient for 30 minutes, cleansing and sterilising the area, marking, and then injecting the filler. Ice packs are applied post-injection for at least 15 minutes to reduce swelling and bruising. It is recommended to avoid makeup on the day of treatment to prevent contamination of the injection sites. Makeup can be applied the following day.
RECOVERY
Swelling and redness post-filler treatment usually subside within 2-3 hours. There is a 50% chance of bruising, which may last up to a week if it occurs. To minimize bruising risk, patients are advised to take arnica tablets and refrain from aspirin, anti-inflammatories, and fish oil for five days before the procedure.
Filler complements botulinum toxin serves as a fundamental treatment for facial rejuvenation.
